Dreams do come true aka “Sugar high”
When you are a child growing up, your parents should make sure you are well educated when it comes to life’s dangers. PROs and CONs. They should give plenty of understanding of what might happen if you don’t control what you fall for and what might happen if you stay strong and keep yourself away from the temptations out there. Well, my lady owner failed.
From my early age, I was watching my owner to go nuts any time she would hear the word MACARON … “Did anyone say macaron? Where is it? Can I taste it? I need one right now!”.
I would wake up in the middle of the night hearing her screaming “Pistachio, Dulce de Leche, Salty caramel …”
But one thing she never screamed while dreaming, nor said when awake… “Jackie, don’t touch my macarons, they will make you twist your mind around their tastiness and you will be trapped for life!” … so I did sneak into the kitchen this one warm night, I picked one shiny Coconut raspberry macaron, poured me fresh glass of water and waited. Stared at that beautiful round thingie for at least 5min till my nose got close enough to gently bite first part of that magic… And OH MY HORSE, that was the moment I knew, I have to experience everything about them! I was trapped!
Luckily, there’s an another unique and awesome human being out there with talents that blows my horse mind off! And this awesome person invited me and my lady to experience and create the one thing that makes us sugar high every time it crosses our minds!

I have seen the whole process. From working on the batter, to shaping and filling. The whole experience made me realize how much work it takes to create this tiny tasty miracle. Apart from having the right teacher to walk you through the process, you also need passion, and thats where I can clearly say – that was not missing at all. We were all excited to see what we come up with. And we did come with magic.

First thoughts – we need colors, we need uniqueness, we need something that will make us jump 4 feet high. We wanted to fly in land that doesn’t go well hand in hand with the current world we live in … we knew we have to leave our lovely planet to achieve that. And only by grabbing the tail of Milky Way, we managed to get high to the galaxy to realize … that’s what we are after. Out of this world, shiny and filled with not only colors but also hopes.

We flew around, enjoying pretty much every step of the road. Me and my lady, we tried not to keep our mouth constantly opened while Mr. Awesome was explaining the step by step procedure … we all learned, patience is the key, which obviously is one thing I am deeply lacking off… I wanted them to be ready and eat them all.

Patience. The one thing you need while baking macarons. Not only when measuring and re-measuring and double checking, triple checking, you need to have that with you at all steps. Mixing, drying, baking, cream filling, and settling. All requires you being on top of your excitement…well, I wasn’t. I couldn’t resist to try the coming taste, I dived in and if it wouldn’t be for my lady who saved me from the sugar rush, I would have never left that bowl with the sweet tastiness… but sure, lets wait for the result…

The filling…uhmmm…what could that be. Imagine your tongue is slipping through the galaxy and tasting every star, every planet and or sun along the way … what would that taste be like? Sour, sweet and spicy? Maybe raspberry, maybe mint, maybe rose water…?And yes, we came to agreement and the remaining piece of work could start… the filling … so close to the end product, so close to stuff my mouse with the unique taste…

We tried, and Ooh My Horse, that was music to my big flappy ears. All I wanted to do is to swim in that taste and never leave the pool.

After constantly being blown away by the achievement, it was time to collect these magical macarons and go for it! Wild, with no control … time to get sugar high!

With huge thanks and at least a kilo up, I would like to mention Mr. Awesome’s magical land…the one and only POPTASI … the unique place I will be always carrying in my heart and belly!
