Haarlem

The spring is heeeere!!!! After seeing the frozen land of Iceland, I have asked my owner to take me around the Netherlands. Explore the land I live in and enjoy what it has to offer.

Having the dedicated and loving owner, she took me for the weekend trip the moment sun came out. First stop – Haarlem. If I behave well, she promised to take me to Scheveningen later. (I rocked that day – funny, charming, well behaved – no reason for me to not to deserve to see the sunset on the beach)

Upon the arrival, I popped the question; “Sooo, what’s the plan?”. My sweet travel buddy smiled seeing me excited to be on the road again and then she explained, that her and I, we are not regular tourists. We don’t need to go around in crowds, we shall explore. Walk outside the city center, look for beautiful houses, parks, trees … Feel free, energetic and absorb what the city has to offer as we pass by.

As always, she was right! Walking through narrow streets got us to first park location filled with spring. I sniffed and sniffed and couldn’t get enough. The freshness in the air, the colors, the hopes … I was absorbing all the beauty and started to feel the vitamin D hitting all 4 legs. I felt light, like I can achieve anything…so I decided I WILL when I will feel the right challenge.

The best part of my trips these days is that I make friends. I was just chilling in the park by the water when a duck swam by. She introduced herself as Quack IV Junior and asked me how come I can just chill when there is so many little humans around. They chase me all the time, she said. Such a friendly duck and has to go through so much stress during these beautiful days … I hope the big humans would teach the little humans that everyone deserves peace and kind handling.

Seeing a big tree, I asked, how can I get to the tree crown, being as clumsy as I am and a horse on top of it  … I was sooo small comparing to the tree I decided to challenge, I started to have doubts. My lady told me, fear is natural and good way of realizing the risks, but shouldn’t always stop us from achieving what we want. If I feel strongly this is what I want to try or do, I should go for it. If I am incapable achieving on my own, I should also realize I can ask for help. So I did, and she helped me to get higher up in the tree and I felt proud being the first horse who made it!

Apart from the blooming beauty, this city is full of amazing villas, houses, bridges … I felt like super model that day being captured in my full beauty at so many locations.

That day, I also got to experience to stand on the bike for very first time in my life. Considering my lovely owner was scared for me to fall, she stayed close by watching every move I make and she let her friend to take the picture – not a bad result for a beginner 🙂

After hours and hours of walking, we left to visit the sea side, watch the sun going back to sleep and chill by the fire with the beautiful view of Scheveningen ring.

Life is amazing and I feel like the most blessed horse ever!
